This is the champion of upcycling – a vintage Victorian hall console table from Druce & Co of Baker Street from their Secondhand Department no less (as per the brass plate at the back)!

Made by Druce & Co Cabinet Makers and Upholsterers in Baker Street late 19th Century, the table-top is a swirl of cherry wood, sanded and drenched in coats of Danish Oil then polished to a matt sheen.

It is warm and tactile, rich and noble. The legs (what legs!) are laden with floral emblems and latticework cornices which have been painted in a warm grey/beige and finished with clear and dark waxes to add a new timeless age.

This really is a beautiful piece of furniture, it really is. The table measure 105 cm wide, 82 cm high and 54 cm deep.
