Terms & Conditions and Pre-Workshop Information

Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully and ensure that you understand them, then if you agree, please confirm by email, specifying whether you are agreeable for photos and videos to be taken and used for future marketing purposes, to kirsty@upcyclearcade.com. By purchasing a place on one of our workshops, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions which apply to all users of the workshops.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
Placing a Booking: To book a place on one of our workshops, please buy direct from the Young Upcyclers Workshops page using PayPal or your credit card via Stripe. Tickets are also available via CraftCourses.com.

For all bookings, full payment is required at the time of booking. Please note that all workshop payments are non-refundable unless the workshop or course needs to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (see Cancellation/Rescheduling below).

Cancellation/Rescheduling: We reserve the right to re-schedule or adjust any workshop or course details with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice should circumstances beyond our control require us to do so. We do not envisage this ever happening but examples of why this would be necessary would be due to force majeure, bereavement, adverse weather conditions or Act of God. We ask for your understanding should this apply.

With our workshops we do have a minimum number of participants required for the workshop to proceed. This is often due to minimum orders of workshop materials required. Conversely, we have a maximum capacity which may be limited due to the space available.

Should we need to cancel a workshop, or a place booked on a course or workshop due to these circumstances, we would refund the payment in full. We reserve the right to refuse anyone for any reason at any time (within the law).
USER COMMENTS, FEEDBACK AND OTHER SUBMISSIONS
By submitting feedback or reviews, creative ideas or suggestions by any means (feedback form, online reviews etc) you agree that we may, at any time, publish them across social media, our website and other sites we deem appropriate.

We are and shall be under no obligation (1) to maintain any comments in confidence; (2) to pay compensation for any comments; or (3) to respond to any comments. We may, but have no obligation to, monitor, edit or remove content that we determine in our sole discretion are unlawful, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party’s intellectual property or these Terms and Conditions.

You agree that your comments will not violate any right of any third-party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, personality or other personal or proprietary right. You further agree that your comments will not contain libelous or otherwise unlawful, abusive or obscene material, or contain any computer virus or other malware that could in any way affect the operation of the workshop or our website. You may not use a false e-mail address, pretend to be someone other than yourself, or otherwise mislead us or third-parties as to the origin of any comments. You are solely responsible for any comments you make and their accuracy. We take no responsibility and assume no liability for any comments posted by you or any third-party.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We cannot guarantee that your use of our workshop will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free although we shall endeavour to ensure that each workshop will run to plan.

We cannot guarantee that the results obtained from the use of the workshop will be satisfactory as this depends on the Young Upcycler and their Responsible Adult. However, we will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and assist with the upcycling.

In no case shall Upcycle Arcade or our helpers be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of the workshop, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the workshop or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the workshop, even if advised of their possibility.

GDPR
We hold only the personal data that we need in order to provide you with the services you require. We do not pass your details on to any third party, unless
• you specifically ask us to do so
• there is a legal obligation for us to do so or
• to gather information to enable us to carry out our obligations on your behalf.

We keep personal data for a period of up to two years from the date that you cease to be a client or longer where there is a legal obligation to do so. If you wish to verify your personal data held by us, please contact us via the Get in Touch form.
PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS PERMISSIONS – IMPORTANT
We will be taking photographs and videos throughout the day for marketing purposes. These will be added to our website, social media etc. However, we will only use the photos and videos of you and your young person with your permission.

If a photo is taken during the day and your young person is not showing their face, we may choose to use that photo if the rest of it is good for us although we will be sympathetic and compliant with your wishes.
PRE-WORKSHOP INFORMATION
Our upcycling paints are water based and do wash out well from clothes. However, they contain coloured pigments and can stain. An apron will be provided for use during the day although it is recommended that suitable clothes are worn. This includes comfortable footwear – remember you will be on your feet for much of the day and you may get paint on your shoes.

There will be extra upcycling embellishments for sale for use on your piece of upcycled furniture if you choose. These include furniture transfers, decoupage papers and laser cut 3D designs (www.polyonlay.com). These will range from £5 to £10, and credit card or cash payments will be accepted on the day.

Luxury goody bags will be given to every Young Upcycler age 10-16 years. Additional bags can be purchased for £20 each.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day. As the primary attendees are young, there will be more regular breaks than say, for adult workshops. There will be tea and coffee, squash and juice provided along with cakes and biscuits. These are included in the cost.

There is a village green a few meters from the Methodist Church where the Young Upcyclers can take a break. There is also a small seating area within the Church’s grounds. All weather permitting.

It is recommended that you park on Twelve Leys and walk the 30 seconds through the path to the left of the village green. Entrance to the workshop if through the side door.
